Coffee Trivia
It seems most great things in life come by chance and it seems coffee is no exception. The popular theory is that coffee was really “discovered” by a sheep herder.
The herder happened to notice that his sheep would get hyperactive after eating red “cherries” from the plant we now know to be coffee. He was intrigued as to what the plant was doing to his flock. Being curious, daring and a bit different he tried some himself, and was soon in a caffeine frenzy. Initially, the local monks scolded him for his new found drug, but then they tried it themselves and realised that they could stay up late for their prayers – or so the story goes.
Luckily for us coffee lovers this sheep herder was a little different…
